Benedict Cumberbatch in Star Trek: Pics!!

First, let me say that Benedict Cumberbatch has the coolest name in show business right now. He is best known as Sherlock Holmes from the BBC show Sherlock. The show only filmed two seasons, but many people believes that his version is the better version out there right now.

Today E-Online release a picture of Cumberbatch in a fight with Spock, played by Zachary Quinto. E-Online reported that the fight was between Cumberbatch's character and Quinto (Spock) and Zoe Saldana (Lt. Uhura).

The details of Cumberbatch's character is still a mystery. It looks like his character is about to be defeated by the Vulcan nerve grip.

Star Trek 2 opens May 17, 2013.

Scene from Pixar's Brave

Pixar's new movie, Brave, is already getting a lot of buzz. It's a Pixar movie, the buzz is generally worthy.

The only Pixar movie that was critically bashed was their last movie, Cars 2. Let's be fair Cars 2 was nothing more than a movie grab from toys and merchandise for Pixar. Also the first movie wasn't really praised either.

Today Pixar released a scene from Brave. It shows a young Scottish princess, Merida, refusing to be a prize for anyone with good bow and arrow skills.

Looks like Merida will become another strong Princess in the Disney collection.

Here is the plot from the movie's Facebook page:

Since ancient times, stories of epic battles and mystical legends have been passed through the generations across the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland. In “Brave,” a new tale joins the lore when the courageous Merida (voice of Kelly Macdonald) confronts tradition, destiny and the fiercest of beasts.

Merida is a skilled archer and impetuous daughter of King Fergus (voice of Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (voice of Emma Thompson). Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (voice of Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (voice of Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (voice of Robbie Coltrane). Merida’s actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric old Wise Woman (voice of Julie Walters) for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to discover the meaning of true bravery in order to undo a beastly curse before it’s too late.

Directed by Mark Andrews (“The Incredibles,” “Ratatouille,” “John Carter of Mars”) and Brenda Chapman ("The Lion King," "Prince of Egypt"), and produced by Katherine Sarafian (“Lifted,” “The Incredibles”), “Brave” is a grand adventure full of heart, memorable characters and the signature Pixar humor enjoyed by audiences of all ages. The film takes aim at theaters on June 2012, and will be presented in Disney Digital 3D™ in select theaters.

Spartacus' Varro Cast as Bruce Willis' Son

Jai Courtney has been cast as Jack McClane, the estranged son of John McClane, in A Good Day to Die Hard. Following a global casting search spanning several months, 20th Century Fox announced Wednesday that Courtney would be joining the forthcoming fifth installment in the long-running franchise.
Courtney is best known as Varro from the hit TV show Spartacus: Blood in the Sand. Unlike Justin Long from Live Free or Die Hard, Don't except John McClane protecting his son Jack like he had to do with Long's character from the last movie.
According to the press release from Fox:
"Jack may even be more of a hardass than his father. Despite their differences, they must work together to keep each other alive – and the world safe for democracy.”
The previous film in the series, A Good Day to Die Hard, which was released in 2007, paired Willis with Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who played his estranged daughter.

Casting Courtney is a good choice. Especially since Jack McClane is supposed to be a bad ass. Still can't help but wondered how the rumored Aaron Paul would have played the character.

New Avengers Pictures

Today Disney released three new stills from The Avengers movies.

The buzz going around the entertainment world is that Disney is really happy with this movie. Marvel considers The Avengers to be their best outing yet. According to Ain't it Cool News, they've said that it has the heart, the action, the humor and the suspense a movie like The Avengers should have.

The Avengers open May 4th, 2012.
